“You’re going to fry your brain staring at that screen all day!” Many of us probably heard this from some authority figure at some point. Whether TV, computer, video game console, tablet, or smart phone…we love to stare at technology. However, the world beyond our screens does possess a few redeeming qualities. In this section, we are going to give you the push you need to Get Offline. We will present a calendar of conferences and networking events, review some of these same affairs, do some real-time blogging, go “on location,” and try and get you up out of your chairs. Remember, no matter how advanced technology gets, there is still no substitute for speaking to someone in person…well, except for email, smart phones, Skype, web conferencing, land lines, texting, SMS, Morse code, carrier pigeon, two cans connected by a piece of string, and glass bottles (for those of us that may be stranded on a deserted island).
